Discover the secrets of Flo, a talented student passionate about photography and video!

Hello Florent, can you introduce yourself in a few words?
Hey, my name is Florent, more commonly known as "Flo", I am 18 years old and I come from the south of France in Perpignan where the sun is always present! I am in the 1st year of Bachelor Management Tourism at Excelia (formerly called Sup de Co) and I am currently staying in the UXCO Student H2O residence in La Rochelle.

How did photography come into your life?
As a kid, I already loved taking pictures of my family trips. I remember, I machine-gunned all this see saw! At that time, photography was a simple hobby then over time, hobby became passion. In high school, I had the opportunity to join a photo club, I can never thank my English teacher enough (L. Pierson) who gave me valuable advice to improve! Photography doesn't come like that! You have to have the desire to learn, to try, to fail, to try again and again.

How would you define your style?
I mainly take pictures of landscapes. Through each picture I take, I want to convey an emotion, a message. On Instagram, we consume a lot of photo / video content, I want mine to appeal. For this, I try as much as possible to differentiate myself from other photographers and videographers. It's a big job that goes through the composition of the photo until the editing.

A secret to tell us?
To edit my photos I use Lightroom & Photoshop. In my eyes are the best software that can retouch photos with detail.

Who are the photographers / videographers who inspire you?
Guillaume Ruchon, Anil Brancaleoni and many others because the list is long !! These are people who know how to convey emotions and messages perfectly through the content they publish on their networks.

Your favorite photo or photo series?
If you took a look at my Instagram account you can see that I organize it by season (Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn). Each season is different, the colors, the nature, it allows me to awaken my creativity and adapt it. As for me, I have a big crush on the photos taken with my drone.

I am the only one who can do this.

What would be the shoot / report of your dreams?
Make a documentary of several episodes on a specific theme such as the environment or poverty for example. The goal would be to raise awareness, to show how the world is seen through the eyes of a year younger. would be a real challenge and I will be very proud of it!

Ideas or projects for 2020?
Lots of beautiful projects in perspective! I am going on an academic expatriation for 5 months on a campus abroad, followed by a humanitarian internship of 2 months. I really can't wait for these projects to materialize, especially since I will be able to link my passion with photo and video!

You can find me on Instagram and on YouTube where I share videos like tips to improve your feed on Insta for example, memories with my friends and films of the different trips I have been able to make.

And if not, are you at UXCO Student ?
I am very happy with my residence and my apartment! I was able to create my own decor for my YouTube videos and I feel really good there! And the must is that the residence is located a few steps from La Guignette, the student HQ of La Rochelle!
