This stunning town in the South of France, located on the Hérault plain, was chosen by UXCO Student as the location for its Palo Alto residence. Mainly known for its wine culture, rugby union and its famous Feria, Béziers is a dynamic, vibrant city home to 75,000 people.

LIFE IN BEZIERS

Second city of the département of Hérault, Béziers enjoys a near-perfect climate and geographical location near the beaches and mountains of the Haut Languedoc. With a rich heritage on the UNESCO World Heritage of Humanity list, enjoy visiting its historic centre, the Canal du Midi, les arènes, the Saint-Nazaire cathedral or maybe the 9 locks of Fonserane.

STUDENT LIFE IN BÉZIERS

Béziers has 1,814 students attending courses in the University Centre, the University Technology Institute, preparatory classes for grandes écoles, paramedical and social schools, specialist schools and higher technical institutions. The town has two theatres, four museums and the traditional Feria, unmissable for equestrian and bullfighting fans and party-goers! The town centre also boasts the Polygone, the largest shopping centre in town and its surrounding area. This shopping centre offers a green, open-air setting with an extensive range of stores, restaurants and eateries, as well as a cinema and bowling alley. BeeMob provides public transport services at special student rates.

What else is there around Béziers? The region, Occitanie, boasts many excursion possibilities: the medieval fortified city of Carcassonne is a 1-hour drive away, there is wonderful countryside at Roquebrun or perhaps Minerve, one of the most beautiful villages in France, and this is not to forget a visit to Montpellier, the student town par excellence. Alternatively, go canoeing on Lake Salagou, just 45 minutes' drive away.
