IUT2 of Grenoble

These days, it’s normal to want training that prepares you for the world of work, while remaining open to further study. And that’s exactly what Grenoble’s IUT2 offers: professional training for Bac+2 (BUT, ex-DUT) and Bac+3 (professional licenses). Here are the answers to any questions you may have.

What courses are offered at Grenoble’s IUT2?

IUT2 offers a wide range of courses:

  • University Bachelors of Technology (BUT) – Bac+3: for example, Business and Administration Management (GEA), Computer Science, Marketing Techniques (TC), Multimedia and Internet Professions (MMI), Social Careers, or Statistics and Business Intelligence (STID).
  • Licences professionnelles – Bac+3: specializations in human resources, logistics, e-commerce, data science… accessible after a Bac+2 or a BUT.
  • University diplomas (DU): additional training in management, entrepreneurship or new technologies.

The emphasis is on active teaching: classes in small groups, practical projects, compulsory internships and strong interaction with the professional world.

How do I apply to IUT2?

When it comes to admission, procedures differ depending on the targeted degree. Applicants for the BUT go through Parcoursup, submitting an academic file, a letter of motivation and, sometimes, an interview. For a professional degree, you apply directly to the IUT2, which also assesses applications and may invite you to an interview. Work-linked courses require a double commitment: admission to the IUT2 and finding a company willing to take you on.

In all cases, a guidance department is on hand to help you every step of the way.

What opportunities are there after training at IUT2?

IUT2 courses are designed for rapid integration into the job market, but they also open the door to further study. Here are the main options:

  • Direct entry into working life: graduates of a BUT or licence pro quickly find work in sectors such as commerce, finance, web development, data analysis or management.
  • Continuing on to a Master’s degree: this will enable you to specialize further (e.g. Master’s in management, IT, digital communications, etc.).
  • Specialized schools and grandes écoles: after a BUT, you can enter a business school, engineering school or other specialized establishment through parallel admissions.

Does IUT2 offer international opportunities?

Yes, and that’s a real plus! Destinations vary depending on the course, but Europe (Erasmus+), Canada and Asia are often preferred.
